Keep in mind that murrelet training meets at Prairie Creek State Park, a 50- to 60-minute drive north from Arcata. Snowy Plover training takes place in and around McKinleyville, a 5- to 10-minute drive north from Arcata. Please keep this in mind when choosing where to stay.
