Laurel Goldsmith Biologist
Laurel first joined MRB in the summer of 2005. Since that time she has
participated in a variety of projects including rare plant surveys, wetland
delineations, and marbled murrelet surveys. She first fell in love with nature
when she was a child camping in the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains
and backpacking on the Napali Coast of Kauai. Her passion for the natural world
inspired Laurel to study botany at HSU where she developed a special affinity for
grasses and fungi. Coming to live in Humboldt was like coming home and she hopes
never to leave the Northcoast. Her hobbies include backpacking in the Marble
Mountains, hiking in the redwood forest and walking on the dunes
with her family.
