Kerry Ross 
Kerry grew up in Humboldt County where the forest of his backyard in Trinidad was the first education he received in the natural world. He is an avid bird watcher and naturalist, and is currently pursuing a B.S. degree in Wildlife Biology at Humboldt State University. Kerry joined the MRB crew in 1999 as a field technician and has been conducting surveys for Marbled Murrelet, Snowy Plover, Northern Spotted Owl, Aleutian Cackling Goose, and other wildlife species annually. His keen observation skills and enthusiasm for the job have been tapped by several organizations and government agencies to participate in a number of avian research projects, including work with Parrots International for the Bahama Parrot on Abaco Island in the northern Bahamas, the Aleutian Cackling Goose Project in Del Norte County, and the Northcoast Snowy Plover Project in Humboldt County. He is an active volunteer with several organizations including Audubon, American Birding Association, eBird (joint effort between Audubon and Cornell Lab of Ornithology), the Northcoast Marine Mammal Center, and is the compiler for the Arcata Christmas Bird count. |
